DOMAS REPRESENTATIVE PART OF THE CROATIAN DELEGATION FOR THE YOUTH WORK RECOVERY CONFERENCE IN FINLAND!

From 13 to 16 June 2022, DOMAS was part of Croatian delegation for the Youth Work Recovery Conference! Besides active participation, we have co-facilitated one part of the event, which was dealing with recommendations to recover youth work!

The Youth Work Recovery Conference happened from June 13 to 16, 2022 in Helsinki, Finland and brought policy, practice and research together to discuss the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and crisis on the field of youth work (and its respective actors) across Europe. The conference explored the evidence on the need for support of youth work in Europe, on the one hand, and the available support options for youth work in Europe, on the other hand. Therefore, gaps in existing support measures as well as specific and concrete mechanisms needed (in addition to existing ones) were identified. Another objective was to discuss the role of the European youth programmes in strengthening post-pandemic support of youth work.

Participants worked on developing clear actions for relevant actors on how the post-pandemic support and development of youth work can be improved, strengthened and widened across Europe and beyond. A drafting group supported the process by summarizing and contextualizing the work done by the participants.

The Croatian delegation was consisted of the following persons: Marina Maričić (Central State Office of Demography and Youth), Marijana Pavlić (Ministry of Health), Domagoj Morić (DOMAS) and Sanja Posavec and Valerie Posavec (Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes).

Besides active participation in the conference, our Domagoj was co-facilitator of the whole event and had a workshop with a group of participants on developing recommendations for the future action plan.

In the following period, the final ‘Beyond Recovery Action Plan 2030’ will be developed and will refer to a wider perspective (going ‘beyond recovery’) – thus, having the pandemic and its effects as a starting point for a wider discussion on systemic issues and different emerging crises. Stay tuned to find out more soon! And you can see some of the thematic areas on the graphic recording above!

The Youth Work Recovery Conference was co-hosted by the National Agencies of the European youth programmes from Finland (host), Croatia, Germany, France, Portugal and Slovenia (co-hosts) as well as co-financed by Movetia (Swiss agency for exchange and mobility).
